Jared Rawle grew up in Springville, Utah, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for the unique beauty that Utah has to offer. He developed a love for art at a young age, and spent much of his youth drawing. He has always known that art would be an important part of his life. While in college, Jared decided to study animation. Upon graduating, he began work at Pixar Animation as an artist in the Sets Department. He's spent the last six years creating digital environments and sets for the films Coco, Toy Story 4, Onward, Soul, Luca, Turning Red, and Lightyear. Early in his animation career, he was invited to get outside and traditionally paint with his colleagues. He was instantly drawn to the joy and challenges of plein air painting, as well as the immediacy and textural quality available with traditional paint. He considers getting outside to study and paint from nature his most valuable art training, and one of his greatest joys. He's recently had the opportunity to move back to Utah, where he feels a deep connection to the ever changing landscape. He is fascinated by the stark contrast and distinct qualities of the different seasons, and their effect on a single location. His goal in painting the landscape is to capture and celebrate the unique feeling of a particular place and time.
